What We Do.

CUSTOM KITCHEN WORKS

At Custom Kitchen Works we've built our livelihoods on refacing people's kitchens and remodeling homes. From the simple to the lavish, we've experienced it all and we can help you every step of the way. No job is too small or too big for our knowledgeable staff.

What type of material do we use for our doors?

We pride ourselves on quality and premium materials. We use the highest grade of MDF: Medium Density Fibre Board.  Medium density fiberboard is an engineered wood product formed by breaking down hardwood and softwood residuals. These wood fibers are combined with a wax or resin binder and the resulting mulch is then pressed at a high temperature that is pressure-formed into panels.

MDF is generally denser that similar wood products of the same size and shape. Due to the nature of the manufacturing of MDF, it does not contain knots, rings or other imperfections that natural wood or other man-made wood products are plagued by. This allows us to use the entire sheet of MDF to lower our cost and pass the savings on to our customers. We only use 100% Canadian made MDF suppliers and PVC films that are imported in from Germany and Italy.

How long will the process take from start to finish?

On average, the installation process takes approximately 2-3 business days depending on the size of the kitchen and or space. You are still able to use your kitchen and cabinets. This is a non invasive installation with minimal dust and disturbance to your home. Your installer will walk you through the process once you have placed your order.

Care And Maintenance.

1. Care must be taken when using hot water or steam source close to thermofoil doors. Our thermofoil doors have been tested to withstand temperatures up to 95C (203F) but direct stream will deactivate the glue. Some precautions should be taken when using self cleaning oven feature, remove drawer & dors adjacent to oven. Be aware of placement of toasters, toaster ovens, broilers, kettles etc.

2. Avoid use of harsh chemicals when cleaning. Use soap and water or a standard household all purpose cleaner. Avoid lacquer, thinners, bleaches or cleaners containing solvents or abrasives. Never use cleaners with toluene or acetone.

3. Avoid bumping or hitting doors especially with sharp objects. Cuts, dents and abrasions can result in water seeping under PVC causing bubbling. Minor surface scratches can be repaired.

Other Projects.

What Is Refacing?

WHY WILL IT SAVE YOU MONEY?

Cabinet refacing is a cost - effective way to give your kitchen or cabinets a whole new look. Some of the cabinets built 10-20 years ago are MORE solidly constructed than most new, prebuilt cabinets of today.  By replacing cabinet doors and drawer fronts and changing the exterior of the cabinet boxes you get the desired look you want for the fraction of the price of a new kitchen.

There are high costs associated with installing an entirely new kitchen.  Do your researched consider all steps of the process. If you get a quote on new cabinets make sure it includes, handles, hinges, molding, installation, disposal of old kitchen, any new plumbing, electrical work, refinishing your walls ( if the new cabinets do not fit the old layout) Custom Kitchen Works is offering you convenience without breaking the bank and achieving the look you need and want.
